FINDING HOPE AMIDST The STRUGGLES: A JOURNEY OF LOVE, LOSS, AND RESILIENCE

Image
"My name is Damaris Kawira. I am from Maua, Meru County. I am going to tell you more about myself. This is a true story about myself. I know this will reach out to many people out there who are going through a lot, and also to the young girls out there who want to start life. I just felt I needed to talk and share this. I am tired of silent pain. I need to share and talk to the world. I am not perfect. I have made and continue to make mistakes, but I don't want anyone, not even my worst enemy, to live like me or be like me. I need someone out there to read my story. Maybe it will teach them something. And please, don't judge me. We are all humans. I was born in a family of five. I am the youngest. I was born in 1996, but in 2000, I lost my dad, and in 2005, I lost my mom. I was very young and didn't experience the love of parents. I started learning from the world, going around searching for the love of a family. Wherever I went, I was made to do a lot of work in exch...

WORLD RADIO DAY

Image
Radio is a powerful medium for celebrating humanity in all its diversity and constitutes a platform for democratic discourse.  World radio day was Proclaimed in 2011 by the Member States of UNESCO and adopted by the United Nations General Assembly (A/RES/67/124) in 2012 as an International Day. At the global level, radio remains the most widely consumed medium. This unique ability to reach out the widest audience means radio can shape a society's experience of diversity, stand as an arena for all voices to speak out, be represented and heard. Radio stations should serve diverse communities, offering a wide variety of programs, viewpoints and content, and reflect the diversity of audiences in their organizations and operations. Radio continues to be one of the most trusted and used media in the world, according to different international reports.  February 13 became World Radio Day (WRD). The objective of World Radio Day was to raise public awareness of the importance of...

World condom Day

Image
International Condom Day, which is celebrated on February 13, was established by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, a US-based non-profit founded in 1987 in response to the AIDS epidemic. The organization celebrates the holiday by handing out free condoms. Condoms are pretty great, preventing both diseases and unwanted pregnancies. They were first used in 3000 BC. Ancient Egyptians color-coded theirs while the Romans supposedly made them from the muscles of fallen enemies. No one can agree on what should be considered humanity's greatest invention. The wheel? Antibiotics? The dishwasher? All valid contenders. But today we are looking at another scientific innovation that, although perhaps innocuous, has transformed life on Earth: The condom. Thanks to these little latex sleeves, humans can have sex without passing on STDs or getting (someone) pregnant. The protection isn't 100% guaranteed ― according to Planned Parenthood in the US, condoms are 98% effective at preventing pregnan...

WATER

Water is life. We've heard of this statement so many times and it's true. Let me explain according to the Christian perspective. The Bible says in the book of John 14:6 Jesus says I am the way the truth and the life. He is the living water. Life cannot be lived without him in the picture otherwise things will be difficult. According to my experience with life and being a Christian for over a 7 years now I've come to know that it's only God that can satisfy me. We shouldn't just get too caught up in life as Christians and think that everything we do isn't being monitored by our bodies. We have have the life of God in us.we need to know that water is a gift of God and God wants us well. Jesus wants us well. It's good that we take water everyday the right amount according to our body. It's good that we take time and understand that as much as we are Christians God wants us to live a life full of health. Take water. Jesus is Life.
